league FAQ - 2010

Langley Mixed Slo-Pitch is Canada's largest COED league and is a non-profit society registered in the Province of BC.

When does the league start?

The Spring season starts around the first week of April with playoffs during the second, third or fourth weekend of July. The Fall season starts in August with playoffs in October. Visit our Tournament page for exact dates.

What is the league format?

The league is a 6 and 4 COED league (6 men/4 women). There are 160 teams in the Spring season, split into 20 divisions of 8 teams and one division of 12 (A1/A2, B1/B2, C1/C2, D1/D2, E1/E2, F1/F2, G1/G2, H1/2, I1/2 and J1/J2). The Fall season has 80 teams, split into 10 divisions of 8 teams (A thru J).

How much are team league fees?

The league fees for the 2010 Spring season are $1,150.00 per team, with a non-refundable $250.00 deposit required at the Annual Spring Meeting [ASM]. The $1,150.00 is broken down as: League fees of $1,050 and Fine Bond deposit of $100 (refundable if not used). Fees for the Fall season are $650.00. Both fees are subject to change.

Individual player fees are different for all teams, depending on each team's fundraising, tournament play, and sponsorship.

What do league fees include?

Your team's league fees for:

Spring season include; 22 league games, Season Ending Playoff tournament in July, SPN carded umpires, two dozen game balls, line up cards, score books, bases at all diamonds and SPN registration and insurance.

Fall season fees include 14 league games, Season Ending Playoff tournament in October, SPN carded umpires, one dozen game balls, line up cards, score books AND bases at all diamonds. You must be registered with SPN-BC for insurance purposes. Fall ball fees do NOT include SPN registration.

What fields do we play at?

LMSP play out of three parks in Langley, BC. Our main fields of play are McLeod Athletic Park, Brown Road Park and Denny Ross Park. Directions to the Fields.

What days of the week do we play on?

Our allotments are Monday to Friday depending on the park. No weekend games, except for Mid- Season Spring league play and Season Ending Playoff tournament. Game times are: 6:30, 7:50 & 9:10PM.

How can I enter a team into the league?

If you have an interest in putting a team into our league, please go online and complete an application and/or contact our executive for more information.

How can I find a team to play on?

For any individuals or couples looking for a team to play on this season, please register in the Forum and post your name(s), experience level, position(s) played, and contact information. Coaches check the postings regularly, so they will contact you directly with more details.
